[Louis knows damn well that Clem isn't in any state to run or fight any more. He can pretend all he likes that she's still capable, still a badass- and though the latter might be true, the former is less so these days. He's made it a point not to baby her. She's alive and still with them and that means everything to him. But he knows she's too damn stubborn, too independent to be treated as an invalid. So he's done everything in his power to try and keep things as normal as possible.
