[Hunk is able to type the address into his Fluid, since the goings on in the city had prevented him from becoming too familiar with it, and fortunately, it's not very far; just a straight shot down Main St.
It isn't long before Louis might hear a light and friendly knock on his front door.]
Of course, I don't, but I did because that's the power of friendship.
[And you can't defeat the power of friendship, Hunk.
When the door knocks, there's a lot of loud barking on the other side of the door. It's the sort of bark one would expect to come out of a dog who would unhesitatingly tear someone's throat out if they crossed her. Which this dog absolutely would.
Of course, when Louis opens the door, letting out a lilting whistle to know the visitor isn't someone to tear the throat out of, Hunk instead gets a pit bull barrelling into him, stubby tail wagging happily. ]
Rosie, c'mon, don't maul Hunk. [He flashes a smile of apology, opening the door a little wider to let Hunk in, while using his leg to try and nudge the dog away. ] Sorry, she's still getting used to seeing so many new people.
[Hunk considers the power of friendship one of his biggest strengths.
He hears the barking from the other side of the door and he was never particularly scared of dogs. He trusts that Louis wouldn't let him be mauled by an attack dog. But when the door opens, he's delighted by her greeting. She's relatively short in stature, although broad and sturdy, and she reminds him a bit of how he'd imagine his lion would be as a dog. He pets her happily as her little tail wags, careful to keep Louis' gift out of her reach.]
Rosie, huh? She is a very good watch dog!
[As Louis moves her aside, Hunk steps in, bundled up against the cold, and hands Louis a rectangular box. ]
I figured you might like a little something to nibble on, so I made you these.
[When Louis does eventually open the box, he'll find it lined with parchment paper and stuffed with soft, chewy ginger molasses cookies.]
If I'd known you had a dog, I'd have whipped her up a treat, too!
[Rosie snuffles happily against Hunk, delighted by the petting. That's all she wants in the world- all the pets!/small>]
She's also an excellent walker chomper, too. And don't worry, she's happy to have regular dog kibble these days- she doesn't get that at home.
[The school was a lot safer with Rosie in it, that was to be sure. Louis lets out a delighted noise because he is never in his life ever going to turn down free food. ]
Aww, sweet! Thanks dude! [You better believe he's gonna eat one right now. He'll chew it happily.] Holy shit, these are good! Like really good.
[Hunk smiles, albeit a bit proudly. He's always been confident in his cooking and baking ability, but is still grounded enough to stay humble and open to learning new things.]
I'm glad you like 'em! They just seemed like a really good cookie choice for you.
They are absolutely a good cookie choice for me and if you keep giving me the goods like this, I might have to just swap you out for Omar. Or go into space with you. Either or.
[He's joking. A little. He'd never leave Clem.]
I got something for you, too! Happy whatever holiday you celebrate!
[He offers up a box containing a beanie with this logo on and a printed note promising Hunk one (1) song to be played on the piano of his choosing whenever he wants it, no matter how awful the song is. ]
